A fun and creative interactive parent/young-child class utilizing Musikgarten curriculum which provides lifetime foundational music education through song and movement. Through the activities in the class children develop a deep love of music and the ability to express themselves through music. Students learn elements of music which develop and lay a foundation of ear training, pitch recognition, vocalization, and rhythm basics.

Primary music will be an exciting combination of singing, dancing, and musical game playing toward the goal of learning music fluently. Students will have fun learning to use their musical voices and musical ears comfortably and naturally. Students will sing songs that train them in music theory basics so that they experience first-hand the fundamentals of music theory.

This class will give young students the opportunity to explore basic percussion concepts. We will be playing on various surfaces as well as employing movement such as jumping, stomping and clapping. This class is intended to begin instilling an innate rhythmic sense in young musicians which will aid them in their future as a musician in any instrumental or vocal setting.

Beginning Band is for students desiring to learn a band instrument including instruments from the woodwind, brass, or percussion families. Beginning theory, note reading, rhythmic study, and the handling of individual instruments are all an integral part of this class. Students will be able to perform at an early intermediate level by the end of the 1st year of class.

Symphonic Band is a continuation of Concert Band. It provides woodwind, brass and percussion students rigorous experience in performing demanding repertoire in a broad range of styles. Students will rehearse and perform intermediate to moderate level quality band foundational exercises and works in a structured environment.

Wind Ensemble is a complete performance band experience for advanced instrumentalists. It is an advanced woodwind, brass & percussion ensemble that performs professional-level works from renowned composers. Students will rehearse and perform advanced level quality band works in a structured environment.

Chamber class is for intermediate to advanced instrumentalists including wind, brass or percussion. Students will rotate between various small ensemble units for trios, quartets, or quintets and into medium instrumental family groups. Groups rehearse independently allowing for growth in leadership as musicians.

String Orchestra provides continuing growth in music through the study and performance of beginning and intermediate string orchestra literature. Violin, viola, cello and string bass students develop ensemble skills. Students reinforce the foundational techniques of proper playing positions, quality tone production, aural skills and music literacy in a performance ensemble setting.

This Beginning Jazz Band class will cover foundations of jazz as they learn jazz band pieces that enrich the learning experience with the goal of developing into a solid intermediate level performing group.

Jazz Band is a complete jazz band experience for advanced instrumentalist. Students will rehearse and perform intermediate to advanced level quality jazz band works in a structured environment.
